{"id":921,"date":"2025-12-03T12:32:59","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T12:32:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/cybersecurity-conference-in-the-aerospace-and-defense-sector-2\/"},"modified":"2025-12-04T14:34:02","modified_gmt":"2025-12-04T14:34:02","slug":"cybersecurity-conference-in-the-aerospace-and-defense-sector-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/en\/cybersecurity-conference-in-the-aerospace-and-defense-sector-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Cybersecurity Conference in the Aerospace and Defense Sector"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Teruel, 2 December 2025 \u2013 AERA brings together the main technological players at Teruel Airport for the Cybersecurity Conference for the Aerospace and Defence Sector.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Cybersecurity Conference for the Aerospace and Defence Sector, held on 2 December at Teruel Airport and organised by AERA, Arag\u00f3n\u2019s aeronautics, aerospace and defence cluster, in collaboration with the Polytechnic University School of Teruel and the airport itself, brought together the main technological and operational players in the ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"623\" height=\"498\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-865\" style=\"width:493px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-2.jpeg 623w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-2-206x165.jpeg 206w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-2-300x240.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-2-125x100.jpeg 125w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 623px) 100vw, 623px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p><em>Jes\u00fas Gallardo welcomes participants<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>During the opening, Alejandro Ibrahim, Director of Teruel Airport and President of AERA, emphasised the strategic position of the airport as the province\u2019s largest employer and reviewed the investments that are transforming the site: the construction of the new CIEMA (Comprehensive Centre for Training and Aerial Mobility), the development of an urban plan that will add one million square metres and a new runway, the future hangar for SCEYE\u2019s HAPS operations, and the industrial project for aircraft biofuel storage, valued at \u20ac1.15 billion. Alejandro Ibrahim also highlighted other logistical uses of the airport, such as the storage of wind turbine blades and engines, and its role as an infrastructure provider for technology companies in the sector. <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"883\" height=\"488\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-859\" style=\"width:578px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image.jpg 883w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-299x165.jpg 299w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-300x166.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-768x424.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-181x100.jpg 181w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 883px) 100vw, 883px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p><em>Eduardo Gistau and Xavier Mart\u00edn present on supply chain security.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>The technical presentations were delivered by Hiberus, Delsat and Integra. Eduardo Gistau (Global Head of Cybersecurity at Hiberus) and Xavier Mart\u00edn (Director of Hiberus Catalonia) highlighted the company\u2019s growth (over 4,000 professionals, \u20ac250 million in services, and 42 technological areas) before focusing on a clear message: the supply chain is the most vulnerable point of any organisation. They analysed the cyber incident attributed to Iberia, which in fact occurred at a supplier, and emphasised the importance of extended governance, regular audits, validation of incoming software, strict management of privileged access, and the adoption of Zero Trust Network Access. As Gistau summarised: &#8216;A company that does not implement cybersecurity will not only lose, but will not survive.&#8217;   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"858\" height=\"515\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-861\" style=\"width:569px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image.jpeg 858w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-275x165.jpeg 275w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-300x180.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-768x461.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.aeracluster.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-167x100.jpeg 167w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 858px) 100vw, 858px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p><em>Francisco Yuste in his presentation on the DELSAT Group and telecommunications.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>From Integra, Marisa Romero, Head of the Defence Area, and Gonzalo Bernal, Chief Technology Officer, emphasised that cybersecurity is at a critical point for the aerospace sector due to the impact of AI, which can multiply both efficiency and vulnerabilities. They warned about threats such as ransomware, OT attacks, industrial espionage, phishing, APTs, and credential theft, stressing that &#8216;the weakest link is us humans.&#8217; They presented very compelling real-life examples of deepfakes, such as the &#8216;CEO fraud,&#8217; and highlighted the need for audits, contingency plans, immutable backups, MFA, and network segmentation, as well as the decisive role of cyber insurance as a method of financial protection against cyberattacks.
